The outer case has a shield for the owner's initials while the inner case is marked "coin silver" with the initial G possibly relating to someone in the case making department. The case serial number is 3453. The cuvette is polished, carries the same serial number, and has two key winding apertures. | |

notes | Reeds Patent:
Developed a stationary mainspring barrel to protect the gear train in the event of a broken mainspring which would normally destroy the rest of the gearing. His mainspring was set solidly on the pillar plate with the end of the spring attached directly to the pillar. Patented Feb. 18, 1857. Mershon's Patent: Ralph D. Mershon developed a patent while working for the E. Howard Company which involved a unique patented compound regulator system. |
