Case: (size not provided) An 18k gold, Swiss made, open face pocket watch case with gold ball and oval bow placed at the twelve position. The outer cover has an engraved head of a long beaked bird (? stork) with scrolling foliage below. The interior of the watch case is marked, "Examined by Hunt & Roskell", (successors to the) "Late Mortimer and Hunt, 156 New Bond Street, London". Hunt & Roskell were in business from 1844-1890 in London. There is an 18k gold hallmark with the initials PR in an oval cameo (unidentified).case serial number 6746.


White enameled dial with Roman hours, closed minute ring, screwed down at the three and nine positions, dial signed 'Muller, Geneva' and having gilt Breguet type hands.


Movement is signed Muller, Geneva, and constructed in the French (Lepine) style with stepped tapered bridges, jeweled, key woud and key set, stepped center wheel bridge, mono-metallic balance wheel, stepped and engraved balance bridge along with a coiled click-type index regulator in the Swiss manner.


In very good condition with few surface scratches, very good dial and clean looking movement. An unsual French style movement made by J. Muller of Switzerland and exported to England where it was examined by a top watchmaking company in the mid 19th century.the style of movement was used on the Continent primarily between 1830 and 1845.
